Having to be stranded on a docked ship for 2.5 years while the company that went bankrupt and other financial liquidation things never happened and the people on board are using any resources on board to stay alive? Governments really need to put a priority on some things like this to make sure it does not happen and that people don't get imprisoned on a ship.

  3. 3 years? how much money could they have possibly been promised to make it worth pissing away 3 years of your life? Well at least they aren't missing any meals…

  4. CBC, this story is as clear as mud. 👎

Correction not stranded. Willingly stayed on the ship to recoup lost wages.

  6. This reminds me of that movie where a Russian man who was stranded at JFK Airport 🐕

  7. Things like this happens under Trudeau government, never solves a simple problem

  8. After 1 minute of learning about the company going bankrupt, I would be out of there. Who stay an extra 2+ years on a ship? These guys lol

  9. Its always the little guys who get it in the neck, I guess they are just not important enough for the rich folk and easy to overlook as mere inconvenience.

Why would you stay there for 30 months?

  13. Seize the ship. Sell it. Pay the men and send them home.

  14. LOTS OF PROSTITUTES IN QUEBEC CITY THAT IS QUEBECS MAIN EXPORT PROSTITUTES !!!!!

  15. Stuff like this really pisses me off. These are two men who didn't deserve to be put in this situation. It's totally outrageous.

  16. Our Monarchy made Crown system has proven it is nothing but corrupt and inept. Our Democracy must change. Get those men off that ship for Christ sake.

  17. Meanwhile undockumented illegals are welcomed by RCMP ironic.

  18. Christ, can you imagine having to live in Quebec for 30 months?

  19. This is international maritime law, there are unions etc and it happens too often. Why isnt anything done? Canada is great at nafta steel climate chsnge but when it comes to common sense business is business as usual blame it on endless red tape that roll never runs out!

  20. With that law in place, pretty much sentencing them to the ship if they want any compensation, Canada has non formally imprisoned these men. Canada and the company that abandoned them should both be legally and financially accountable for the years of life and pay taken away from working, innocent men. I wish them the best. Good luck new captain.

  21. Just leave. Almost 3 years of your life is not worth any missing wages.

  22. Some thing like this has happened before to some indians. Wtf is wrong with our gov. We need overhaul

  23. This is wrong… someone needs to contact the PM

  24. Someone should start a go fund me page. Poor guys. Seems embarrassing that this happened on our land.

  25. I'm less informed now CBC. Thanks.
